Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Well equipped cottage that was very comfortable. Lovely garden with lots of rabbits and a stoat to watch from the windows. Olivia was very welcoming. Great for walks from the door also a short drive to Rudyard lake for canoeing and Peak wildlife park, which the kids loved. Would highly recommend a stay at Field House Cottage.

Wonderful week spent at Field House Cottage at the Roaches in October 2022 – lovely cottage, quiet, comfortable and well-fitted out and what a position right below Hens Cloud. We loved the history of the barn – that it once was part of the Roaches Hall estate and housed exotic zoo animals including yaks and wallabies. Olivia is a great host, happy to offer advice on walks and what to do in the area. We had a great time exploring the area and were fortunate with perfect weather all week. A perfect base to venture out into the rest of the Peak District too.

What a wonderful place to stay. Cottage is really cosy and well equipped and so clean. A lovely part of the country, excellent places to walk & visit. Hen Cloud & Roaches were spectacular and easy to walk to from cottage. We loved our time here. Hope to come back soon. Thank you so much Olivia

We stayed for a splendid weeks holiday at this lovely cottage. The owner, Olivia, made is feel really welcome and right at home. The cottage is ideally located for easy access to Hen Cloud and the Roaches. We spent the week climbing and enjoyed the Peak gritstone. Clearly much thought has gone into the inventory of the cottage and everything was well prepared, clean and tidy. The grounds of the cottage are also stunning. Communication with Olivia prior to arrival was spot on too. We will definitely be looking to book again – sad to leave.

We stayed for the weekend and wished it could have been longer. The cottage is beautifully appointed and equipped with everything you could need, even picnic things. Olivia has thought of everything. It is set idyllically below Hen Cloud with ready access on foot to The Roaches. It is peaceful with wonderful views and dark skies. Two fabulous days walking and back to a cosy cottage for board games and films. We also ate at The Lazy Trout (8mins away by car) which we would also recommend.

This is a lovely, beautifully presented cottage full of character. It is well equiped and was very well prepared for us. The whole cottage was spotlessly clean. The cottage is surrounded by fields and woods and sits at the base of Hen Cloud. The owners are extremely easy to communicate with and they live next door so are at hand to help if needed. Highly recommended!

Beautiful location and a great cottage with horses in the field nearby, outside eating areas and ducks at the bottom of the garden. Would return here for a break from the city. We used it as accommodation for a nearby wedding but I would recommend it for longer stays as there are great walks surrounding the cottage. Will definitely return again.

A lovely cottage, immaculate and everything we could possibly want. Wonderful scenery and walks close by. Our hosts made us very welcome . So very peaceful and exactly what we needed, loved the hens and ducks and pets. Thank you very much.

We spent a lovely 6 days in this charming cottage. The cottage is lovely, comfy and well equipped. Just what we were looking for on our trip. Olivia is around to advice if you need any help, but it is wonderful to go out the front door and then straight up Hen Cloud with stunning views. Excellent access to the Roaches and Luds Church. We were disappointed that we didn't get a chance to pop into the tearooms. We will definitely return.

A slice of heaven. Clean, bright cottage with character, based at the foot of Hen Cloud in The Roaches. Location was perfect for stunning walks and a nice tea room close by. Olivia made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived and also provided us with detailed information about the COVID standards in advance. It was lovely to have some outdoor space too, including some chickens, cats, dog and some local sheep to add to the feeling. We loved it so much we plan to be straight back if we can visit again.

An unbeatable place to spend a restorative OR energetic time away from it all. Field House Cottage is hands down perfect. We visited as a family with 2 lively children and a less energetic grandparent and had an incredible weekend together.

Mountain and forest views while eating and drinking in the incredible garden (with its own island and the best hide and seek spots in the land) ALL the wildlife including chickens, owls and owlets, hedgehogs and hoglets, bunnies, cats and gorgeous dog Cara, great walking trails to explore from the cottage whatever the weather, peace and tranquility while being really accessible to great places to visit are just some of the reasons we will be returning and recommending to friends and family.

The cottage is spotless, beautifully decorated with the most comfortable beds after a day spent outdoors and everything you could possibly need including fresh eggs from the hens. Olivia and George are the perfect hosts. When can we return?!!! Take me back!

A wonderful cottage to relax in and enjoy the Peak District. Olivia & George have created a very comfortable, clean and warm holiday home that we have enjoyed staying in on more than one occasion. A superb location just off the Roaches. A lot of effort & thought has been put into the little touches such as laminated walking routes. I would definitely recommend.

Our first time visiting the Peak District with the intention of walking, Field House Cottage was the ideal base! You can walk out from the front door and head up onto Hen Cloud and the Roaches. We were given a very friendly welcome on arrival and tips on where to walk to get the most from our short break! The cottage was very clean and warm and had everything we needed, Inc utility room next to the cottage for those wet walking days, perfect to come back to after a long days walk.

Just had a lovely week in Field House Cottage which had everything you need and was so comfortable and clean. The patio areas outside were good and access to the Roaches/Hen Cloud is directly from the Cottage. Thanks to Olivia for the help and advice when needed. Should you require a quick snack or breakfast/afternoon tea then the Roaches Tearooms are located at the top of the access track. For Lunch or Dinner, then the Reform Inn at Thorncliffe is recommended. Thanks again Olivia and George for allowing us to be part of your family for the week.

We had a fantastic week at Olivia's cottage. The property was spotlessly clean for our arrival and beautifully equipped for a comfortable stay. The location is really excellent, with lovely views from every window and great walks on to the Roaches straight from the cottage, no need to drive anywhere if you don't want to! The eggs left for us from the hens in the garden were delicious and we will definitely be returning for another visit!

Thank you so much for our lovely week in your cottage. We've all had an amazing time, doing so much and relaxing in this lovely place. We really enjoyed building dens on the island, feeding the chickens, walking around the beautiful countryside and eating and drinking way too much.

Lovely well equipped cottage in a peaceful picturesque setting, you can even see lovely views from the shower! Olivia was very accommodating and took my niece down to feed the chickens which she loved. We were attending a function at Far House and we could walk there and back which was great as I could have a glass of wine or two. Hope to return and do some more walking too.

Absolutely beautiful cottage and location. Exceptionally clean and beautifully kept. The gardens are lovely. More importantly to us Olivia is so welcoming and the animals very friendly. Literally everything you need is already in the cottage. The oatcakes on our arrival were delicious and the fresh eggs from the chickens were gorgeous. Would absolutely recommend this cottage if you want a peaceful location but lots to do in close proximity,

This was our third stay since November and we’ve seen the cottage in 3 seasons so far...it’s beautiful in all. Olivia sets out a lovely relaxing stay every time, always happy to help but equally happy to leave us to our own devices. Thank you again, from Lucy and Andy. We’ll be back!

Lovely Cottage, so well equipped. It had every thing we needed even 6 fresh eggs. We were made most welcome by Olivia. Would recommend this cottage to anyone thinking of visiting the Roaches in the Peak District. Once again thank you Olivia for making our week-end so enjoyable.

Wonderful cottage in a great location. Very well setup, all the bits and bobs we needed and more. And to be able to walk to Hen Cloud and the Roaches for some climbing was a luxury we haven't had before. Thanks for being so welcoming.

Fabulous place to stay. Lovely and quiet with great access to The Roaches, and still easy to get into Leek which has more going on than we expected.

Field House Cottage is a very lovely place to stay. We stayed there for the second time. Close to nature and very scenic location. Perfect place for kids. The cottage itself is very well equipped with appliances, white goods, guides, games, many other things you may need during your stay. All these positive things I have mentioned are not there accidentally. This is the perfect host - Olivia looks after you to make you feel comfortable and relaxed......

Thanks for your outstanding hospitality. The cottage feels like luxury accommodation, very warm and clean with everything to hand...even a small drying room for wet kit...very impressed. I'm definately coming again! Thanks again

We have enjoyed a wonderful short break in this beautiful, hidden corner of the British countryside. So easy to access a wide range of wonderful cycling and walking routes. The cottage has been perfect accommodation with everything provided so thoughtfully for guests, like an a.m. and a p.m. patio! Refreshed and ready for reality tomorrow...

What a place! Brand new and fully kitted cottage in a beautiful setting. Surrounded by outstanding walking and riding opportunities, and with immediate access to the crags, for climbing. So good the peregrines have nested nextdoor on Hen Cloud. Thanks to our fabulous hosts; we will be back very soon!
